19 wines. 19 wines. That is how many different type of wines that were poured at our last wine tasting event on April 21, 2012. 7 of the wines poured were wines that are or will be featured on our site. The rest 12 different wines are wines that we were considering, but want our members to provide us with their valuable feedback to see if we should offer these wines or not. We were trying these wines for the first time, the same as our members, and making this decision together.
We want to take a moment to thank our members for coming. There were a few discoveries that really surprised us, chief amongst them probably the white Pinot Noir from Germany (the Weingut Bercher Burkheimer Feuerberg Spätburgunder Blanc de Noirs Spätlese Trocken 2008), which we will work to feature on our site. Another combination of Riesling and Pinot Gris from the Baden region in Germany (a region more famously known internationally for the Black Forest and their spas rather than wines), offering just enough acidity and flavors to be your perfect summer mate. The Bodegas Resalte Ribera del Duero Reserva 2004 is another very strong wine, offering much complexity and depth that still shows tons of intensity and staying power. Be sure to keep an eye out for these and other great wines coming soon!
Okay, too much words for a blog post. Photo time.
