We all know wine makes our food taste better when paired properly, and those that don’t appreciate wine are just missing out…until now… try pairing your food with soda.
Yes you heard me right, soda! DRY soda offers seven cuisine-inspired flavors such as lavender, cucumber, juniper berry, rhubarb, wild lime, blood orange and vanilla bean.
If you are in Seattle, take the opportunity to visit their tasting room. Similar to a wine tasting room, they serve the sodas in order of acidity, and you can revisit any flavor after the first round. DRY also provides you tasting notes and suggest food pairings for each soda. For example, for the cucumber soda, with cool, mild, balanced and medium acidity characteristics they recommend pairing it with Mediterranean foods, salmon, eggplant, tandoori pork and gazpacho, where else with crisp, piney, dry, high acidity characteristic of the junipar berry would pair better with quail, antipasto, portobello mushrooms, mussels, roasted potatoes and venison. And of course, that cucumber soda would go fabulously with gin!
